GRJFA Parent's Code of Conduct

I will be responsible for my behavior as well as for the behavior of those who attend the game/practices as my guest.

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports events.

I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.

I will be in control of my emotions.

I will remain in the spectator area during games/practices. Only players and coaches are allowed on the practice and game field, with no exceptions.

Criticizing or harassing the officials, coaches, opponents, or fans will not be tolerated.

I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.

I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak to coaches at an agreed upon time and place.

I will not advise the coach on how to do their job.

I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events. I will not drink alcohol at a game/practice or come to one having drunk too much.

I will remember that the game is for our youth - NOT ADULTS - and that participation in youth sports is a privilege, not a right.

I will show respect for all participants at all times.

I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child. I will not instruct him to harm any other participants.

I will not coach my child during the game/practice.

I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.

I will not make insulting comments to players, parents, officials, or coaches of either team.

I promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectable fan, assisting with coaching, or volunteering.

I will make sure my child attends all scheduled practices and games, and if unable to do so will contact their coach in advance. I understand absences, excused or unexcused, may impact playing time. GRJFA coaches, board members and volunteers invest a substantial amount of personal time to provide the best possible experience for your children - it's expected that parents and players will make every effort possible to attend all their team's practices, games, and events.

I will ensure that league issued equipment is kept in good condition, and understand I will be financially liable if not returned promptly after the last game of the season.

ANY COACH, SPECTATOR OR PARENT NOT ABIDING BY THIS CODE OF CONDUCT WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WHICH MAY INCLUDE IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE FIELD AS WELL AS SUSPENSION FROM ALL FUTURE GRJFA ACTIVITIES.

I do hereby agree to abide by the GRJFA Code of Conduct as well as the discretionary authority given to all Executive Board members in the GRJFA. By signing off below I understand that failure to follow the code will be deemed grounds for any sanctions deemed necessary by the Executive Board, including a permanent ban from the GRJFA.
